I don't imagine it will be too hard to get off, shouldn't need any special tools etc. I have never had any problems in other (similar aged Toyota) cars, though not tried an IS. Though I will soon, as mine is very worn and I have a lower mileage one to fit.
I agree with Toxo, i always use the loosen and yank method. works a treat, takes a few yanks though
Ho guys ok I tried the yank but no chance. Borrowed a puller and it popped straight off. The loose part is for the airbag activation as works like a child proof bottle cap somehow it came a bit loose. Installation instructions are on the unit to just tightened if a bit and is ok for now.
