Help! The weather has turned and i am still struggling with this problem.
I have checked the air mix servomoter, and this is moving fine. From hot to cold.
I took out the glove box and you can see it move when you change the dial from hot to cold.
The temperature only changes on the drivers side blowers though. and the passenger side is constantly blowing cold. Although it is regulated by fan speed (so it blows cold air quickly and slowly, in match with the drivers side).

There is still a small air lock in the coolent system, I have managed to get most of it out. But struggling with the last bit. Could this be causing the problem?

Is it hard to get to the heater matrix, as I can't find any pics of it on the online manual? If I could get to that, I could tell if the whole thing is getting hot.

The car is cooling down at the min, before I try and bleed the air again. If anyone has any ideas it be great! thanks!

Right then, I have the answer for u mate! I have the same issue with only the drivers side blowing hot air and u need to carry out a full flush of ur system. I need to do this yet but have had previous confirmation this works. Take the hoses off that feed the heater matrix and attach a hosepipe to outlets of the matrix under the bonnet. Then run water through in each direction to clean the matrix. Basically it gets clogged up and only gets "half hot" therefore only warming half the car. Let me know how it goes. As for airlock what everyone else has said is right.

Have tried this today, it was a right pain in the bum.
And also it hasn't worked.

Has anyone else got any ideas? I really don't want to (nor can afford to) take it to a garage!
Could my heater matrix need replacing? And if so do I need to take all the dash out to get it it? There is no water inside, so it is not leaking.

Please help someone I am freezing my nuts off at the min! Sad

Hi James

This is a bit of a shot in in the dark as i dont know much about Lexus engine's

Some cars have duel heater controls which basically means the passenger can change the temp on there side to the driver

What happens is the water valve that lets you do this sometimes fail so one side will just stay cold while the other side will go hot

Do you have this set up on your car ? if yes have a look at that mate
