Illuminated door handles?
Illuminated door handles?
ok what you need to do
Place the negative cable of the LED strip on the negative of the battery
Place the positive of the Multimeter on positive of the battery
place negative of multimeter to positive of led strip
with multimeter set to amps turn it on and voilà the strip should illuminate and you will have a reading on the multimeter this is the reading in amps etc.....
hope that helps
jomo Ok mate cheers., ill give it a go.
How do i find out what's the max i can draw from the ign light wire, without setting my car alight!

sprinter2012 Trust me, you won't overload it with LED's.
I had a 7" LCD screen, a 12v netbook charger, and a satnav all running off my cigarette lighter at times and nothing got warm. Although I wouldn't want to do that too often.
I ran a strip of those 24 LED's off a power supply at work, which allows it to just take as much power as it needs, and then shows you on a digital readout. I can't remember the numbers but it's seriously nothing to get worried about. You'd need literally thousands of those LEDs before anything blew.

I can understand the logic in illuminating underneath the exterior door handles when you unlock the car. Interior door handle lights are a bit drug dealerish
A t5 SMD would fit the bill, really small and puts out a lot of light.
