Problems with MAP sensor ?
Problems with MAP sensor ?
Hi All
I know there has been a lot of talk about MAP sensors and TTE superchargers, and to be honest i have read a lot of it!
I had the usual cutting out problems and the diagnostics telling me that there is a MAP problem.
I have replaced the original black box with a HKS FCD, standard part, and i have set the dial to 9.
Unfortunately this hasn't cured my problem
I now get cut off happening with i get above 3000 revs, but it recovers as soon as i get off the throttle. The other thing i see is that the reported MAP level from OBD2 is constantly high and doesn't move as i drive. Do i have a dodgy MAP sensor as well?
Any help would be appreciated
Hmm sounds like a faulty map sensor to me. I may have one at home you can try if you want?
Pm me and I'll dig it out when I'm back from jae.
Hi
Just some further updates, i have replaced the MAP sensor, but the problem is still the same.
I have now checked the voltages going into the FCD and coming out of the FCD, when the car is idling
Voltage in 1.6V
Voltage out 5.66V
So to me this suggest that the MAP sensor is ok, but the FCD is doing something strange. From what i understand the FCD limits the signal from the MAP sensor it shouldn't boost it.
If i just bypass the FCD what will happen?
Help!!!
farnsworth67 HiIf you remove or bypass the FCD everything should be fine below 6000rpm. Full throttle plus high revs will make you hit fuel cut.
