Bushes all fit but question do 1gfe rings fit 1ggte pistons ?????
Extended the Greddy harness 2day all done so ill install 2morrow that got boring doing all that soldering only a few burns along the way as well lol any way heres a few pics along the way
Missed out the stage of me using electrical tape to keep loom together while i fed it through the heat shrink got carried away as usual lol
Nice job mate, need to get yourself a soldering mat instead of the oven glove lol.
ill have you know it was the oven glove that made this possible lol i have got 1 somewhere?????
Nice bargain!
Right a little update i went to install the greddy today so fed through the grommet and then when doing the ecu i couldnt fint my tamper proof bits so i haulted there really not very good i know!
So today i have been looking all over the net for these 1g-gte piston rings but to no avail so been searching about and found that that the 1g-gte piston rings are 1.2x1.5x4 75mm bore so as i have the 1gfe ones the problem is the top compression ring!
So searched around some more and found that toyota prius has piston rings that are 1.2x1.2x2 75mm bore only problem is obviously they are only 4 cylinder
Question??? is there any harm using a second compression ring as a top compression ring????
But this still does not explain why when i stripped my 30k 1gfe engine the piston rings inside were 1.2x1.2x4 75mm bore which is why i presumed (never ever presume lol) the 1gfe rings would fit the 1g-gte pistons
Basically if there is not too much of a problem using the 2nd compression ring as a top one then it will still work out cheaper than toyota charge! and im not a 100% you can still get them
2morrow is clean the car day and wait for my shiny new toys to arrive
mattlaw If you txt me the part numbers of the 1g gte rings I'll see how much I can get them for you
