ormi can't wait to see the finished product :drool:!!!how much will the turbo conversion cost you by the time its running?i might just have to start saving!!!!

Erm, kind of a lot lol. Certainly could have bought a faster car for less. But that's not the point really. I'm keeping track of all the costs on a spreadsheet.

I could have done it more cheaply by staying with standard internals/injectors etc, but didn't want to go down that route.

Here's another part that I should have posted before really, since it goes along with the GReddy e-manage Ultimate. It's the wiring harness. For some cars you can get a "plug and play" harness from GReddy, meaning the harness is customised for that specific model. There is no plug and play harness for the IS200 though, so you need to get the "universal" harness, which can be custom wired-in to the ECU etc.

I have the longer version of the harness, as recommended by Stav, since apparently the standard harness is a little short for the IS200.

It's all coming together nicely, I expect your house is filling up nicely and you can't wait for the moment to drop it off :thumbup1:

Ref your GTE pistons you got (a good buy by the way), are you going to hone the block and be fitting them with new piston rings? Just a thought as the originals tend to get in a groove (so to speak) from all the heating up and cooling down etc?

Yeah the new pistons will be test-fitted into my block, to see if they need new rings or not.

You've certainly put a lot of thought into all this, good work, should hopefully mean a relatively painless process :biggrin:

Hi mate, I found some information that might interest you. Here are a few calculations in order to figure out what type of injectors you might need for your motor.

Injector Size Calculator

Flow Rate = (HP x BSFCX10.5)/ (#injectors x Max Cylce)

Flow rate = CC
HP = at the flywheel
BSFC = Brake specific fuel consumption (0.55 for turbo 0.45 for N/A)

Example:
2.0 Litre SR20DET
Flow= (500HP x 0.55X10.5) / (4 cylinder x 0.8)
Flow = 902cc injectors required

Also for your A/F gauge sensor I also found some information regarding what type of mixture you have from the indications your gauge shows you

Air/Fuel Mixture
6.0 Rich Burn limit (fully warm engine)
9.0 Black Smoke Low Power
11.5 Aproximate rich best torque at WOT
12.2 SAfest best power at WOT
13.3 Aproximate Lean best torque
14.6 Stoichiometric AFR (chemically Ideal)
15.5 Lean Cruise
16.5 Usual Best Economy
18.0 Carburated Burn Limit
22+ EFI Burn Limit

Thanks Dimis, interesting.

Trying the injector calculation out for 270 bhp, it says we need 324cc injectors for 80% duty cycle. However, SPC Horsham found out the injectors were more like 100% at 270 bhp. Having said that, I can't find out what the size is of the standard injectors. I suspect it is something like 330cc, but I'd be interested if anyone knows for sure.

I've bought 550cc injectors for my project.

Some gauges to keep an eye on what's happening. Boost gauge to keep check of how the turbo is doing. An oil temperature gauge I think is essential, given that there will be a lot more strain on the oil, both to cool the turbo and the engine itself. I chose the Defi Advance CR gauges, both for their reputation for producing good gauges, and also because they look nice Big Grin

The boost gauge comes in two variants. I've got the one that goes up to 1.2 bar, they also do one that goes up to 2.0 bar.

Also there's the control unit that's needed to go along with the gauges (lets you connect several gauges together and play back what happened etc).
