DoneSmile Looks great, I'm well pleased with this simple modSmile

Although I remember a few years ago when I mentioned doing this on the "Other" site, people told me not to do it because if the air bag goes off you will have hard plastic flying off at a silly speed towards your head! That is why the OEM part is soft/plyable I would guess?.......Just be aware that's all I'm saying.

Oh yeah that is one lovely motor......

That was mentioned again when this idea was brought up again by P.Lindblom but I'm still pretty sure that the logo will have nothing to do with the airbag - there should be a predetermined way that the cover will split when the airbag deploys and that should really go around the logo rather than through it.

I haven't seen a pic of a car with the airbags gone off but that must be the case..........

Plus the newer cars have a solid logo so it can't be an issue.......

I've had probably dozens of cars with all sorts of air bag actuation over the years, all have worked well, none have injured the occupants. So I agree, very low chance of having a "L" emblem embedded in your forehead.....:w00t:

Just a quick pic (that looks like the other steering wheels with this mod but this is my one.....lol): Like the others needed a little bit filed off the edge, fixed to the steering wheel with double sided trim tape. Goes very well with the chrome gear knob/chrome A/C rings/clock face.

Thanks for bringing this little mod to our attention Ormi.

I did mine this afternoon, i've stuck the rubber (?) steering one on the airbox, i'm assuming it doesn't get too hot there???

stuck mine on the wheel with sticky pads, i'm very happy with it

No, the airbox shouldn't get hot, it's supposed to be providing (relatively) cool air into the engine.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
