Marsdendean So thats like buying something and it failing.

Thats why i cant afford to go down the tuning route, because of the repair bills of parts failing!

There should be no problem if new parts (as Stav mentioned) are fitted and then if they fail, because either the original part has failed (and therefore under a warranty there) or it was fitted wrong (and therefore the garage did the job wrong) - although ok, there could be a dispute over proving that.

Consumer protection laws apply just as much to cars as they do to other items. Though if you buy some of the items from abroad it could be more complicated.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Marsdendean I suppose its just getting the right people and the correct knoledge to make sure things go OK.

I thought this was quite a complex build ?

It was/is but we'll leave that to 2tongues to explain

Hang on guys please don't let this thread turn into the one on the "other" side, with assumptions and the like etc. This is why I started again so it was all clear and concise.

Who pays for what is between me and TGT, including how much.

So far to be fair they have picked up ALL the bills apart from recovery of the car.

Although with the amount of issues still left unresolved they are clearly incapable of doing the job 100% to my liking so the guys at SPC are finishing/changing the project. I am fussy and I expect only the best - just like I treat my customers.

I only asked who pays for things once it goes wrong so that other people who go down the same kind of road know what to expect.
I was not trying to take your topic to the Dark side :LOCMOD:
I was just interested to know what to expect in a project car

Lexus IS200 Mods--TTE Supercharger, Tein Superstreet Coilovers & EDFC, 6000K HID Lights, HKS Silent High Power Exhaust, DBA Front Discs, Kenwood DNX9240 Head Unit, 19" Rims, TRD Kit, FIGS Bonnet Struts, Greddy Pillar Pod & Defi Gauges, TTE Red ARBS . And Been To WIM twice

Sorry I am in a real fowl mood - and shouldn't let it come across on this forum. (see how angry post.....)

I think anyone doing a project like this has to expect a few things to go wrong, and who pays for what has to be discussed and decided upon PRIOR to any work commencing.

Small update:

The Janspeed Exhaust is to restrictive for a TURBO set up running in the 300 BHP area, although fine for a N/A and S/C set up.

N/A cars like an amount of back pressure and tubby ones don't hey like free flowing systems - look at the Turbo F1 cars (those were the days:lolSmile their exhausts were only a few inches long.

Wayne removed the exhaust from the downpipe back and this instantly gave a further 30/35 BHP:ohmy: on the Dyno. Now I know the figure without an exhaust but until there is a custom fitted system on it and re-tested I won't be saying, lets put it this way I am happy!!

Wayne found a Scooby Prodrive axle back 'zorst (good for over 300BHP) and this fits in the IS200 exhaust gap so he is currently fabricating a 3" stainless system to take the power:w00t:. Boy this man works hard for his money and is very inventive getting round problems.

At the moment I haven't seen any of the most recent photos, but by all accounts it is a NEW car, the engine bay has been transformed as has the power...............

Yerr, good news! You're right about turbo exhausts, for a while on my car I had a 2' long straight through pipe (literally one 45 degree bend and a kink to clear the subframe and that was it!) and the power difference was huge.
