I've seen a RX on the police fleet, but never a IS300.

hmm don't think it's likely to be ex-50 tbh mate, as i understood the police don't use auto's

depends on the area as different regions use different makes, i know down south it tends to be bmw's, fords and skoda's, midlands is volvos, vauxhall, skoda

I've read mix opinions on ex-plod cars, some say they are well looked after and have uprated suspension/brakes etc, but some say that ex-plod cars have been thrashed and maintained on the cheap?

Anyone got any views on this?

Probably depends on their exact role in the police, they could have been used for all sorts of different things (e.g. motorway pursuit cars will be upgraded).
