And it probably isn't a good idea, when I phone them up, to say "Hi, it's Steve, can I speak to Steve please ?"

Yay, my injector connectors finally arrived from the US !

I was starting to worry about where they had got to. They look right to me, I'll be sending them straight up to Charlesworth.

Here's a pic of the connectors that I got (from ConnectorsFast.com) :

Because these had been taking their time, I decided to order some connectors from Toyota too, and they came in today and I just picked them up. So I've got two sets now. Oh well, better than none !

I spoke to Charlesworth and things have been progressing more than I expected, given that they'd been a man down. The engine is back together now and soon will be going back in the car. Charlesworth still weren't happy with the way that the turbo was fitting to the manifold, so they have altered the existing adapter plate to suit.

One slightly worrying thing was that the shells in the engine bottom end had apparently worn down to the copper, and my car had only done 60-odd thousand miles ! I had put decent quality oil in there myself, but have no idea what previous owners had done. These were going to be replaced anyway with the swapping of the pistons and rods, but it makes me more glad that the engine was opened up now.

A fitting has been made up for the oil return line (from turbo to sump), and the oil feed for the turbo itself isn't going to be taken from the usual VVT-i outlet that most conversions have seemed to use (to avoid possible oil pressure problems with the VVT-i).

Still no pictures, but as soon as I get some I'll post them up !

60K is nothing really for the shell to be showing significant signs of wear. Oh well at least it doesn't matter really.
