Coilovers will be a *lot* better than lowering springs (possibly adjustable, ride not compromised when lowered etc), and cost no more to fit. So saving your money for coilovers will be no bad thing !

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Would it be difficult to fit coilovers myself?? Its just with them being pre-tensioned??

Not too hard, no. Others who have done it themselves will be able to give you better advice.

Don't forget though, when you change the ride height of your car you will need the chassis geometry recovering (e.g. a trip to WIM), or you will have tyre wear problems and poor handling.

Yeah I know, will have to sort that closer to the time. But might certainly try and get them on myself then spend some cash on getting WIM to fine tune them!

Coilcovers should be easier to fit than springs as you drop the whole unit out and replace with the coilcover, with springs you have to clamp them to get them off the shock making it slightly more difficult, I want coilcovers eventually but for now the springs will defo do me I can't stand how high my car sits.

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

Coil Overs are easy to fit - so long as you are a half way decent DIY mechanic. I did my own, however I did borrow the ramps and tools of a local garage for easy access, and there was a mechanic around if there was a problem. Take your time and if you don't have a good memory photograph the fittings before you remove anything, then you have a reference to work from.

The trouble with lowering springs is that although they're designed to go with the stock dampers, the other way round doesn't apply - i.e. the stock dampers weren't designed for use with shorter springs, so their full travel isn't used and ride quality suffers as a result. I only really notice it going over bumps, and it's much harsher on that sort of thing.

Yeah, and my dampers are now 10year old, so if I put more stress on them now, they might just give up!
So yeah, going to get some BC racing coilovers ordered by end of Jan.
