Tis frustrating eh Steve, let's hope some of the parcels are for you at the P.O. then !!
Any news Stevie?
I will get an update tomorrow hopefully.
Not much has happened unfortunately, they've still been waiting for some bits. Despite my efforts to provide as much up-front as possible, in hindsight it would have helped for me to provide even more of the parts. Trouble is, the fittings here and there are something that I'd have no idea about, I'd have to get the garage to tell me what is needed, and sometimes that might be tricky before they'd seen all the components themselves (e.g. seeing the turbo with their own eyes to work out what's going to be needed where etc).
Anyway, the snow has caused a lot of problems with delays. But I just found out there's been a bit of a misunderstanding, they thought I'd bought a runaround for while my IS200 was in there (which was the original plan), and didn't realised I'd been paying for a hire car all this time. Actually they seemed slightly shocked, and are going to try and hassle for all the remaining bits as much as they can now, to get it all back together ASAP. I don't think they were exactly not bothering about my car, as I said the weather really has messed things up, but perhaps they haven't been chasing things up as much as they could have done.
The sump is off at a stove enamellers, being enamelled gloss black apparently (they had to drill into it for oil return pipes etc), and isn't back yet.
They're still waiting for a fitting for the oil feed from the engine, this is being made up (again they will be chasing the guy now).
They were a bit concerned about how to get the fittings for water-cooling the turbo without spending a fortune, but now I've told them this turbo fits on an S14 (200SX), they're hoping they can pick up some standard S14 parts for this (to save a completely custom job !).
