rig-pig my one has been working fine in the cupboard for years its kind of in the mid of the house and i still get a sig in the garage no probs and its the bt hub i have

how do you mean mate? most houses don't tend to have network sockets in them more RJ45 phone sockets which you put (depending on type of internet e.g. cable/adsl) a filter to thr phone socket then from the filter you split a adsl cable to your router then a phone cable to your landline.

yes it's possible and fairly straight forward however have you thought about using powerline adapters instead?

if you buy cat5 cable and the facia plates then its quite simple.
you just connect the cable to the back of the facia (similar to a phone socket) and job done..
i have done this through the wall and outside the house and back in again upstairs..
