Its the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor which works out what pressure the air coming into the engine is at - which along with RPM and Air Intake Temp works out how much fuel to put in I believe.

Was Supercharged Racing Green IS200 Sport. Now APR Stage 1 Seat Leon Cupra (220 Bhp).

The alternative system that a lot of cars use is called MAF (Mass Air Flow), which measures the quantity of air flowing through the intake, for the same purpose.

It's just two different ways of measuring how much air is coming in, either via the pressure of the air (MAP) or the volume of flow past a certain point (MAF).

Yeah, that's what I thought too, I've PM'd him to double-check. And I have no reason to doubt Noble, after all, they mapped Sam's turbo'd IS200.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, I've PM'd him to double-check. And I have no reason to doubt Noble, after all, they mapped Sam's turbo'd IS200.

steviewevie I don't know the top-end bhp figure. I'm not so interested in that, since I'm after driveability, but I am trying to find out if they've got a figure for it.

As for the OEM MAP sensor, Noble say it can easily cope with my turbo and has plenty of headroom.

Hmm, thats odd cause when i had mine mapped at Noble when it was Supercharged they said the standard MAP was useless/inaccurate for postive pressure and they were glad i had the Greedy one for the Emanage?

and i must agree with SPC i dont think the standard MAP sensor can read a pressure over about 0.46bar (i have the workings out from investigations i did into the FCD a few years ago). well certainly not with any accuracy anyway.

Looks like some crossed wires before, because Noble say the stock MAP sensor only works up to about 0.5 bar, which is what some of you have said.

So I've ordered a GReddy MAP sensor (up to 3 bar). I'm a bit perplexed at how this has managed to fall through the cracks, because no-one seems to have realised that I needed one up till now. Oh well. Ordered one off eBay for £100, and I will send it straight to Noble.

Think we will probably stick with the OEM injectors still, though if they do get to the stage where they max out, we'll have to go with the uprated ones.

Pretty frustrated because it was so close to being finished. And Easter being in the middle isn't really going to help.
