i think also if you are going to spend a fair bit of money you need to look at the dab/terrestrial radio situation as normal radio is supposed to be turned off in a few years rendering lots of car stereos on sale now somewhat obsolete if not equipped/expandable

I think pretty much all the big brand stuff has the option of adding a DAB tuner.

I remember a gadget show test a while back where they tested the top of the line systems from Kenwood, Pioneer and Alpine and it was the Kenwood that came out on top. Good idea to go to an audio store and have a play with a few different units to see which one you prefer.

And ours has a 120gb iPod plugged into it and has no problems at all Smile

Moley, why do you need someone else to fit it? Its really simple. Smile

I would consider a few other brands other then Kenwood.
Check out this, £380 and got everything you need.

http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_...-24045.htm

Or this if your not bothered about a dvd drive (you can still watch videos off an SD card), and want to save over half your budget.

Very true, but its has to be said about anything electrical. Its not worth paying through the nose, as something new is always round the corner.
In my humble opinion, I think you would be hard pressed to find any differance in sound quality, between the kenwood units, and the units I have suggested.

The biggest differance, will be in user interface. The menus won't be as slick or well designed on the cheaper units. Up to Moley what he wants from the unit, if its just to play off music off his ipod, and to sat nav. With the occasional video, why spend more then he needs too, if he wants the top dog all singing all dancing unit, go for a expensive kenwood. :tongue_smilie:

Well I want it to look good for a start and the main thing is the bluetooth and the ability to get a reversing camera fitted. But also want it to be a good sat nav so I dont need to use the Tom Tom anymore. Just wish you could get the headunit with Tom Tom instead of the Garmin
