Just got home. I'm pinching myself to make sure it's not a dream that I've finally got my car back home, with it's turbo.
And. It's. AWESOME ! :w00t:
I love it, it's just how I wanted, the power delivery is very smooth, the turbo comes in gradually and not with a big bang. You can drive it gently, it's happy to pull from low speeds in high gears. Or you can have some fun.
It would have been weird driving my car at first even if nothing had been done to it, having not driven it for so long. But it was extra weird because of all the changes. But all seems good so far. The brakes are good, the coilovers feel fine (I can easily play about with the damping settings), and most important of all, the engine feels very good
It was good to have quite a long drive to start getting used to it. My first bit of driving with it was over the "Snake Road" to Sheffield, which is an incredible bit of road. Very scenic, and quite twisty. I took it very carefully though, due to not really knowing the car and not knowing the road either. I imagine it would be a lot of fun to do the road again being more familiar with both !
It's not going to be the cleanest car in the world at the Ace Cafe tomorrow, but I look forward to seeing all who are coming along.
I will of course also post up pics in due course, for those who don't make the Ace Cafe (I'm sure lots of photos of everyone's cars will get posted up after the meet).
I have the dyno graphs now from the previous runs at Noble, but I haven't even had time to look at them. It's been remapped now, so those are kind of irrelevant. Haven't got the latest dyno graphs but hopefully I will get them emailed next week, then I can share them. Sorry, I don't even know the torque of the current setup, but I should get that when I get the latest dyno graphs. It certainly feels like torque isn't a problem !
Not sure about the lightweight flywheel, I have stalled it quite a lot so far. We will see if I get used to it, or if not, then as mentioned before I've got a backup plan since I've got hold of a used Lexus OEM flywheel.
Wow, a very long day, and a long long wait for my car, but it was worth it in the end !
P.S. Sorry I missed you to Anees, but another day perhaps ? Would *love* to see your Evo
