My little project - IS200 Turbo
looks good mate, like the way theyve run the water through the turbo, will heat the car quicker on cold days as well.
Yep, is water cooled as well as taking the oil feed. It might not be easy to see on the pic, but the oil feed is taken from much lower down on the engine, Steve didn't like the idea of taking the oil for the turbo from the VVTi bit on the head.
The engine check light has come on a couple of times now. The code is P0420 which is saying that the O2 sensor after the cat isn't happy with what it's seeing compared to the sensor before the cat.
Charlesworth say that they are not suprised about this (though it didn't do it for them, and to be fair it doesn't do it that often for me), since they've seen it on other turbo conversions too. They think the sensors just can't handle the changes with the turbo'ing (they've already run my car on their MoT emissions tester and it was very very low emissions), and suggest I replace the O2 sensor after the cat with an O2 simulator. So I guess I will be on the lookout for one of those.
Looking good Steve, but dont like the very long silicon hose from the throttle body  But apart from that :drool::drool::drool:

I am really pleased for you Steve and under the bonnet looks nice :thumbup1: The Dyno is nice and smooth and with all the comments so far sounds like you got what you set out for, if not more with the torque too. Look forward to seeing it too buddy, I do travel to Farnham every so often so will have to see if we can meet up sometime.
engine bay looked good with its new lodgermoke:
a very good turbo conversion. It felt like an MR2 turbo, plenty of progressive power and quiet smooth delivery to go with it.
I like it a alot:tongue_smilie:
Thanks guys
Stav - thanks for the PM and your help. Russell - I am not far from Farnham, so let me know next time you're coming down !
I need to update my car's entry in the Garage now, get that all up to date.
I commented previously on how my gauge pod (which sits on top of the a/c controls and vents in the middle) is half-finished. I'm not really happy with it now that it's got the dials in and I can use it. Right now the dials are pointing straight-ahead, and I don't really like it. I'm going to try turning the dials a bit towards me, and see how that looks. Not entirely convinced I like the pod itself now either, though I will try turning it first, leave it in its half-finished state (it's just held in place with tape ! :blushing: ), and have a think about it. I would post up a pic but it looks rubbish
