steviewevie Yeah now the covers are off there are some more bits to clean up for sure ! I actually brought the tyre foam along to the Ace Cafe in case I got a chance, but was too busy

I am undecided as to whether to try and get a custom cover made, to cover up the ugly bits, or just clean it all up as best I can and leave it on show.

Get a nice cover imo:thumbup1:

Or a nice cover and then start the polishing process a little bit at a time.

I like the cover idea too as it will finish things off nicely, as much as you can polish things up imho the IS200 still has quite an ugly engine........

Great Pics Steve  The car looks really well out together and OEM, I expect you are very pleased, a nice cover would be good I think also, congrats on a succesful project.
What are your plans now with the gauge pod?

Thanks, my initial plan on the gauge pod is just to turn it slightly to face more towards me. Then I'll see how that looks or whether it just looks too odd. I may decide to switch to another pod instead to stick on top, I'll just have to try it step by step and see if I like it. All I know so far is that it's not really working, what I've got there. So I'll try something else and see if I like that, and so forth.

I did wonder whether the AFR gauge was going to be too distracting in that position, because the numbers on it are constantly changing, but actually I think it's ok, and it's kind of reassuring to show that the fuelling is still working ok.

Nearly. It's the ratio of air to fuel. So when my gauge shows up like this :

- then that means that it is detecting (via a sensor in the manifold) that there are 14.1 parts of air to 1 part of fuel. The number is constantly changing.

So a bigger number is leaner (more air), and a smaller number is richer (less air, i.e. more fuel).

Sometimes AFR is shown as a fraction of "lambda", which is the "ideal" mixture of air/fuel (in theory), which is 14.7. So my 14.1 in that case would get shown as 0.96, since that is 14.1 divided by 14.7
