Thanks guys... Been out and fiddled till I got it back on properly, and tensioned the bolt back up (thanks for the hints Rabs)

Now on properly, but my brother asked me if it was supposed to be idling so high? So now, of course, I'm concerned about that! He has a point though, before it went for the service it always idled around 750rpm, now it's up at about 1200

Still the belt's on right now, so I can take the kids out  and it's sunny too

Car Should Idle at 5-700rpm when warm but will idle at about 1200 when you've just turned it on from cold.

Was Supercharged Racing Green IS200 Sport. Now APR Stage 1 Seat Leon Cupra (220 Bhp).

Woz Did he reset the ECU
No idea if they did or not, so I'll do it myself - that's just whipping out a couple of fuses though, right? Keep them out for 10/15 minutes and then put them back in?

Ed Car Should Idle at 5-700rpm when warm but will idle at about 1200 when you've just turned it on from cold.
Cheers Ed, did notice once the engine had warmed up it was idling correctly (750 or so)again, the earlier rpm count was from cold, you're right...

The timing belt is behind the black plastic cover at the front of the engine, so you normally don't see it.

30 seconds should be more than enough

DaveEdin Question 3 - Can someone explain exactly how I fit the darn HIDS - I must be a numpty cos everyone else can do it just fine! :cursing: Can't find a walkthrough or instructions either... :blushing:

Have you already tried and had a problem ? If so, what happened. It's very straightforward, *but* you usually need to connect things up "the other way round" on an IS200 to make it work.

With a HID kit, normally you just have to unplug the connector from your headlight, plug it into the HID ballast (the metal box), connect the HID ballast to the HID "bulb", then put the HID "bulb" into the headlight socket.

However, usually when you do this on an IS200 it seems to not work. For some reason there is some kind of reverse polarity involved to other cars. The easiest way to swap this around is with the headlamp connector that plugs into the HID ballast, just turn it through 180 degrees before plugging it in. You might find there is a small tab that you have to modify/cut to make it fit the "wrong" way around, though you may just be able to force it on. Don't worry, you won't damage the HID either way, if you plug it in the "right" way first, and it doesn't work, it won't blow it up or anything.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Thanks Stevie - problem was I was reversing the wrong connection :blushing:

I knew it was likely to need done, as I've read a whole bunch of threads on them, but clearly not closely enough

Looking good now though :thumbup1:

It is indeed Smile

Waiting for it get a bit darker so I can take a decent pic of the "after" setup...

I know you're all pic-wh**** here

Might actually be worth doing a project thread so I can track the changes so far as well as the ones I want to make going forward...

That's great ! Yeah, we need before and after pics, or preferably a pic with one light HID and one OEM Big Grin
