Brake Caliper
Brake Caliper
Hi folks, ive just heard a rubbing noise coming from the passenger side front wheel. On further inspection ( touching the disc and scolding my finger) it looks like the front caliper is sticking on.
Would i be able to free the caliper by just pushing it back in or is their something else i need to do ie getting a new one or refurbing the old one ?
Thanks.
If its sticking on it prob needs refurbing mate,
S**t, wasn't what i wanted to hear :Sulk: Thanks Stav.
You can do it yourself, its a matter of taking if off, popping the pistons out cleaning them up and putting either them back in, or new ones, both ways will need new sales. Its not too hard to do
Im going to nip out and have a look. Do you know if halfords sell seals mate ?
No mate, youll have to find some on the net i reckon
Thanks for the info lads, i'll have a wee look.
When pushing the pistons back in, should you loosen the bleeding nipple or open the brake fluid resoviour or both ?
I would take the caliper off the car. It will make your life much easier. If you clamp the hose before unbolting it, you will not loose too much fluid, and you will only need to bleed that one caliper when you refit it
