On the way back form Rabsters yesterday my car started to drop power now and again, then about 15 miles from home the engine management light came on, just read the code and its come up with P0330 Knock Sensor #2 — Circuit Malfunction (Bank #2)

Any ideas on what could be the cause for this? dodgy knock sensor or could it be something else?

Not sure if the timing has been adjusted when it had the turbo fitted, been running fine since i got it, but did use normal unleaded fuel yesterday for over 330 miles? where i've been using super unleaded since i got it? not sure if it has anything to do with it?

Any help would be appreciated :thumbup1:

Knock sensors dont tend to go faulty, i would think its more likely to be a wiring issue. Id check around for and dodgy connections. There has been a lot of fiddling around in the bay so its possible something isnt connected properly. Id also check in the ecu box to make sure everything is connected properly in there

Been out and had a play with the car, checked all the wiring and seems ok, there are a few bits that have melted plastic coverings,
so have tidied them up? been for a spin in it and all seems ok so far??

The engine management light has stayed off, so not sure if its cured or not so will just keep an eye on it for a bit? :thumbup1:

Ok the light came on again today, only did 3 miles and wouldn't pull away very well?? once it got going it wasn't too bad, but had no power when trying to accelerate :Chair:

Any more ideas on what could be the cause?? :Shooting::Shooting:

Chris try reusing super fuel again, as you know a knock sensor detects detonation. Inside the sensor is piezoelectric crystals that vibrate when detonation occurs, this creates a voltage output in relation to the severity of the knock, then the ESA map retards the timing until detonation stops. may just be a case of poor fuel that is causing your problem, as you did state it has always run on super before the fault occurred. Eliminate that first mate.
