Thought i'd get a project thread started sooner rather than later. Came across this car on Ebay at the beginning of March 2012 and managed to do a deal for it. Picked her up from Manchester on the 3rd March and had a nice drive over Snakes Pass back towards Lincolnshire. First Pictures are ones used in the Ebay advert:

When i got home i sorted all the old receipts into date order and had a good read through. Ended up being around £8000 worth of receipts in total.

Current modifications carried out by previous owners:
  • Fibreglass Front Bumper, Rear Bumper & Side Skirts Imported from California
  • Bumpers & Skirts Smoothed into Body
  • Full Respray in Gleaming Ferrari Red in February 2011
  • 18" Inovit Alloy Wheels
  • Lowered on Potenza Coilovers
  • Brakes Upgraded to Grooved Discs & EBC Yellow Pads
  • Custom 5" Twin Exit Exhaust
  • Induction Kit (Not Branded)
  • Sports Steering Wheel
  • Momo Gear Knob
  • Short Shift Gear Change
  • Clifford G5 Concept 650 Alarm Installed

Since owning i've bought some new bright red floor mats, a Sony double DIN head unit and some EL Glow Dials which i still need to install.

Also spent a weekend cleaning it which consisted of a coat of Super Resin Polish, Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze and Dodo Juice Purple Haze Wax. After i took it out to a local spot for some photo's:

Future mod's. Well not a lot really. I've got it booked in at Newton & Bailey's in Lincoln for a health check for a bit of peace of mind before i spend any money on it. Other than that i'd like to get the interior retrimmed in a red/cream combo and just maintain whats already been done to it really. Not looking to break any bhp/speed records just run a healthy standard-ish engine. Also tidy up the engine bay, boot and in the front boot as there is a lot of overspray which looks a bit naff

Any comments, critisisms or recommendations then let me know.

Cheers

That's nice! As soon as I saw the first pic I was gonna post 'are you aware its been resprayed' lol...

I know you've said it's not your thing but a 'healthy' rev2 engine should be able to push about 240 at the fly with a decat, induction and free-flowing exhaust. You can quite legally run that car with no cat and it will still pass MOTs etc.

Oh and your induction kit looks like an Apexi to me. Should be written around the top edge of the cone filter, the bit that's pointing at the ground. If you didn't know already, your bodykit parts are all Border ones.

Thanks Toxo. I think it also has a decat, forgot to put that on the list. Hopefully once it's all been checked over by someone who knows what they are looking at i can get it on a rolling road to check performance figures.

I'll check the induction kit. I've never checked, just took the sellers word for it which is never a good idea!! Should the induction kit be mounted on anything as this one just lies there on the engine bay!?!?!

Thanks for letting me know what bodykit i've got, wasn't too sure.

Probably but the brackets Apexi supply with them are shite and come with no instructions - you basically just get 2 bent bits of metal and have to figure the rest out for yourself! Yours being older has the big AFM lump just next to the filter as well, which is fairly sensitive so should probably be supported!
