How i fitted my fuel preasure regulator on my is200
FIRST OFF I ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYONE COPYING ME THIS IS HOW I DID IT IM NOT SAYING DO IT IF YOU THINK YOUR NOT MAN ENOUGH GET A PROFESSIONAL TO HELP FIRSTLY I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY
right for the eagle eyed people yes i have taken picky s from else where on the net only cause im kinda lazy
so ear goes firstly buy the bits
lay out and admire them oooooooo shiney , next go to the back of the car either side of the back seat the bit you sit on give a little tug youl hear a pop that's the locating clips coming free remove the seat then on the passenger side there's a metal plate with three plastic nuts un do remove youl see this
the pump carrier
now remove the yellow clip it just pushes out with a flat screwdriver unclip the electrics as well tuck out of the way pop the fuel line off a little fuel will run out, don't worrie the blue bit in the picky is what you have to drill a hole for and fit don't have a picky of in between anyway remove all the little bolts around the metal fixing plate and remove the plate give a little tug to the white pump carrier an lift out a bit now there's a pipe connected underneath so don't go all cave man an yank it out you have to lift it up un clip the pipe an it will come free now the top is clipped into the bottom part so get a screwdriver an unclip the two this will free the two but youl have to undo the wires an it will come apart totally so then you can drill the top with out mullering the pump
so once drilled being careful the top is plastic an it can crack fit the fitting and return pipe fit pump then the original return valve in the tank id copied sparky stavs i filled the end with quick steel bent the end over welded it shut then smothered the end in quick steel to be sure
so once all thats done i put back together the tank leaving the seat an cover plate open an started the front
so at the end of the fuel rail theres a handy bolt remove thislike the picky
It measures 16mm thread to thread
then with something metal i lifted the oil line directly at the end of the rail adjusting it slightly so i could fit the handy 8an bulkhead fitting
then fitted the 180 degree 6an bend fitting pipe to the end of this and attaching it to the fpr
then i got the 6an braided line fitted to the fpr an run it under the car lexus helped me out here as they left a extra run in the pipe fixings under the car for me to run it with the rest of the pipes then fed it up to the tank terminated it there an put back together and thats it
also thanks to spark stav yoda of the forum chears for the help
Good right up mate, lol im only running AN6.
Two things, i found liquid metal sometimes has issues with being in fuel all the time so i used that tank repair putty stuff that you crush together to mix. I also jammed a load around the fitting in the tank top on the inside to ensure it sealed well.
Also dont do it when youve got a full tank as it will gush out lol
Right edited iam useing 6an not 8 an did the same mistake when buying bits once like a propper plumb **** there big ha haha also I used quick steel not liquid metal its an apoxy substance so Sets hard also I used a nylon washer and araldite to seal around the hole I drilled to do extra bit of sealing all works good nay probs
ay good mate, perfect write up.
What did you do with the An8 fittings?
on other thing i had, the black pipe inside the tank from the return, did you bend it round so you could clip the jet valve back in place?
i did this originally but found the pipe eventually kinked blocked the return. i just leave it loose now in the tank and its been fine, maybe put a small weight on the jet valve so it stays low in the tank and doesnt float up.
I've still got one an8 90degree bend gonna sell it no use to me outher one I swapped for right size .yeah had the pipe in the tank cable tided to the pump houseing noticed it was kinking it to so just curled it up in the tank then sat the pump on top of it to keep it still all works a treat
What you want for the 90? Pretty sure my oil cooler is an8 and I need a new fitting for that.
