The one on my right rear door has peeled itself away at the front of the door - I didn't noticed and opened it, it caught the front door which bent it back a bit. If they come prepainted then I'll just get it replaced, but if it needs to be painted I won't bother and just try and stick the end back down.
If the latter, what's the best way to stick it back down again?

Do the door side rubbing strips come colour coded or do they need to be painted?

remove the strip clean all the old tape off(tar and glue or like) the door and the strip and get your self some 3m double sided tape(my side skirts are held on with this and they aint coming off)stick on job done.ask the bandit were he got the stuff he gave me with the skirts?i cant remember.

Awesome, that's good news I was hoping they were.
Only reason I would like to replace is that when I opened the door and bent it back the paint has cracked in that area - the surface isn't broken but the paint is all cracked up (hope that makes sense).
Any ideas how much a strip would cost? And can I remove the old one myself or should I just drop it off at Lexus? Worried that I might pull the paint off the door with it........ :unsure:

I did the same as Ormi, i fitted all my skirts with it and they never moved untill i had to rip them off, and the tape itself is still on my old car now :lol:
Lexus IS200 Sport Navigator (Now being stripped again) :blink:
Now Don't Forget The REP!!!
If its bent matey, use a hair dryer to soften it a bit and then use a good VHB double sided tape to stick it back down? the stuff i use will stick brick to brick and is the 3M VHB Tape amazing stuff,

Bandit If its bent matey, use a hair dryer to soften it a bit and then use a good VHB double sided tape to stick it back down? the stuff i use will stick brick to brick and is the 3M VHB Tape amazing stuff,

Thanks mate, it's not really that bent, the prob is that the paint has cracked - going to speak to Lexus today to see how much it costs to get a new one and have it fitted and then decide what to do

Just got off the phone with Lexus, they said £62 for the moulding, and £140 if I wanted them to remove the old one and fit the new one.
That labour cost sounds like a lot, should I just let them do it or is it something I could do myself? What's the best way to remove the old strip?
Another thought, would it be totally out of the question to have a go at sanding it down and respraying the strip? Or would that be unlikely to produce a good quality finish (and end up costing almost the same amount after buying the paint, tape, etc)?

No point mate, the new ones for £60 come pre-painted, bodyshop would surely charge more than that. I was only asking in terms of a cheap fix using what I've got
