As the title says, hard noise to describe, but picture this...
Driving along at a steady speed and come off the throttle, now press on the accelerator and there is a brief pause and then a jump as the rest of the drivetrain seems to catch up with the revs, and at the same time a dull thud/clunk/bump from it seems the back end. Similar to badly worn engine mounts but seems to be from the backend. Even pressing the accelerator quite gently results in the same issue.

What could this be? Play in the driveshaft or diff? Badly worn bushes?

Any ideas appreciated

Hmm I have my suspicions on that, there is also a very slight "rattle" at idle in neutral but if I put the clutch down it stops.
When I say slight, no one would notice it except me because I listen to the engine. Its very very faint.

i have the exact same problem, the clutch problem sounds like just the thrust bearings gone. but also my LSD has play in it and i get that sort of clunk when coming off the power.
