i am looking into changing the crappy torsion bars in the boot to more modern/reliable gas struts but can't seem to find any info so I thought I would throw the question up here to see anyone out there can help

There is a new method appeared. By putting a bolt behind the torsion bar it puts a bit more force into the setup allowing it to spring open again.

I'll see if I can find a picture.

Though I found mine in rs. Though they were in pairs.
