Well I set out at 11am this morning to install my NEO and only finished about 30 mins ago (so 5hrs in total with 1hr break).

I thought the hardest part was going to be getting the wires through the firewall, but a bent coat hanger with the wires taped to it did the trick. Unfortunately though the wires were barely long enough to reach from the centre console area of the dash to the ECU, and I had to come up with some creative routing.

Also during the install, i tugged on the wires a bit too hard and the connectors came unplugged behind the dash. What ensued was about 1hr of pulling the dash apart and ripping my hands to shreds trying to get them into a tight spot.

Anyway, I'll get up some pics and maybe a vid tomorrow.

In the meantime, here's a spreadsheet I put together from info dotted around the net on how to hook up the NEO or S-AFC to an IS300 Smile

EDIT: Can't upload zip file as size limit is 100kb Sad

Gonna get it mapped in the not so distant future. However, for the moment the general consensus is that you can lean out the afr by 8% across the entire rpm range without any issue. On a pro tune, 11-15% leaner at certain RPM's is fairly common with up to 25rwhp increases.

So not bad for the price of a zorst Smile

Gord Nice one, i take it .......... it all works ?

Yeppers. Quite proud of myself having hooked it all up without a single issue. I did think that it wasn't reading throttle position at first, but turns out you need to calibrate it by planting your foot to the floor :p

Good job, you certainly seem to be getting stuck in.
Are you happy with the auto box? Or do you think you will change it out for a manual?

Sorry not updated this thread, but the day after installing the NEO some f**king retarded Audi douchebag decided to do a right-hand turn in the left hand lane on a roundabout right in front of me.

Luckily nobody was hurt and my Lex came off fairly lightly with only some denting to the front passenger wing, scrapes on the bumper and some big scuffing to one of my new wheels :cursing:. I'm pleased to report that my wheel cut the Audi open like a tin of beans vs a can opener. He'd just bought it too. hahaha

Anyway, to answer James: yeah i'm more than happy with the Auto box mate. The only thing I miss is 1st gear burnouts. But all that is replaced by easy gear shifting with the e-shift buttons, relaxing driving in traffic, and the knowledge that if (when) I go boost, the IS300 auto box can hold more hp than the manuals -and is much cheaper to get built to handle silly HP.

Also with a valvebody upgrade or ESK, you can make it shift hard - and I do love the occasional brake boost at the lights Wink

Marsdendean Why does nothing like that happen to me!!!!

Glad you like the auto, shame the IS200 box cannot hold much BHP

Ahh, does it not? I always assumed the IS200 shared the same auto box as the IS300.

I guess I'd better "build it before I break it" considering I've never seen an IS300 auto box for sale / breaking Confused

Dark Samurai What is an APEXi NEO mate?

Very basic piggyback controller for adjusting AFR - all via a little LCD screen. Also controls VTEC on Hondas.

I'm using it to lean out my fuel mix to gain a few ponies and a bit of MPG Smile

EDIT: What Stav said :p

Mate already googled it but don't really get it.
And no, the 200 Box doesn't have the e-shift.
And how many ponies do you gain?
