steviewevie You need to try and find a garage you can trust to tell you the truth - i.e. who won't just tell you "you need 4 new discs" no matter what the run-out test produces. So that's the usual issue with garages, finding a decent one.
Yep I'll have to try a few local places to see who can do it.....yep that's the problem, most will just say you need new discs which is what I'd like to avoid.

Lexusboy Since brakes have had the asbestos taken out they really dont seem to be as good.
Some member recommend Mintex or EBC Brake pads and not your normal Lexus suppied brakes.
If you have second Lexus near you why not ask them to check your car.
I trust Lexus Woodford, they're usually pretty straight up and honest with what needs doing.........I actually had my current brakes fitted by WIM and they are mintex pads with ADL blueprint (I think) discs.

I am planning to get it back to WIM at some point when I have time, but they don't have a way to test the runout in any case so should probably do that first.

Maybe you could ask somewhere to actually tell you the runout test readings, or even let you see them doing it ? Might produce a more honest result ?

The workshop manuals on the runout readings (and other checks on the discs) are here for the front discs and here for the rears.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Sounds like your already got a good set up on your car already.
I am sure it is a build up of dust only that is causing the squeal.
Stevie pointed out that Auto do judder a little while your foot is not fully pressed on the brake

money on warped discs, I had the exact same thing on mine when I was driving it home after picking it up I noticed judder which unfortunately was a warped front n/s disc and double unfortunate for me that the previous owner didn't agree to replace the discs for me.

I put some mintex discs+pads on the front and problem is gone Smile

If that is the case then I'll be hoping for free replacements seeing as they're not even a year old........will let you all know how I get on.

Marsdendean Im glad you have these problems!!!

Thanks :Sulk:

Lol, seriously though it's interesting that you have a similar problem, wish it was as simple as warped discs as that's why I replaced them in the first place but the problem persisted.

Marsdendean now that makes me not change my disks.

Its quite intresting how your having similar "problems" both being automatic. Keep us posted on how your getting on, im going to try to blast the brake dust out and see if that helps. My problem seams to have come from heavy driving when i first bought the car

Also, do you have a custom screen, since yours has voice activation??

Will do mate Smile

Nope I have the factory add on (which not many people know about) which adds voice activation to cars with the DVD satnav. Essentially it's already built in to the system, all you need is the button and the microphone to make it work.

I did a thread about it over the other side........ updated now to OJC LINK

It's a relatively simple and inexpensive but seriously cool mod that I have found incredibly useful (mainly as you can't do much while moving, but by voice you can)
