still saving for the big changes ie wheels and engine mods. But for now every little helps so i grabbed the logo from the engine cover and swapped it with the one on the steering wheel which was faded. And the difference is actually really noticeable and makes it look a lot cleaner inside.
and i finally hit the 100k mile club. I looked down and saw I'd hit it so I had to quickly take the shot whilst driving haha!
have to start somewhere mate, the badge mod is a nice touch
Quick update on a few things because I plan to bash out a few jobs this summer as I have time off at the end of July.
So firstly I had a little rattle sound coming from the undercarriage. Sounded like an exhaust problem because it was dictated by acceleration usage. Sure enough it was, and it was just a loose heat shield. I couldn't be bothered sorting it out at the time so a temporary C clamp was added. (this will more than likely end up being more than temporary XD)
Another thing I've had to do it get a new key.
This is the old one, it snapped in the ignition one lovely morning...
So I got a new one after £120 went down the drain. It does look and feel REALLY nice though, so its not all bad.
I've also now got a spare transponder coded to my car and I've never had another key, the car only came with one. So good chance to get a new one cut and keep it spare. Decided to go with a red one because I remember my mums car she had when i was a tot had a red key for the master key, and i was never allowed to touch it in case i lost it.. So **** her I've got my own one now!
just need to get it cut and then I'll put it all together.
Saw a picture of someone's engine bay with a few of the plastic covers painted and it looked really neat so i did that at work while i had a free moment.
went for Lamborghini blue!
Next problem I've had, there was a bit of brake judder under heavy braking and after prolonged driving. So that was a nudge that the brakes were the next thing that needed doing.
This is what the old ones looked like before i took them off and you can't see too well on the picture but there were little heat spots where it had been rubbing. There was actually still some left on the pads, but I think it was more the fact that the stock brakes couldn't handle my driving haha!
Here are their replacements...
I think it was only the fronts that needed changing but I might as well do them all while im at it, and they look quite nice peeking through the rims. (and don't worry the wheels are getting changed end of July!!!)
So what I'm working on in the next few months will be obviously the wheel change late July. But for the moment I'm going add some air induction because I got given a cheeky KnN filter so I thought i might as well put it to use.
There's a really good thread on this forum somewhere that i have seen, and I'm probably gonna copy a lot of that because it looks a neat finish when done. Just need to get my hands on some ally pipe and silicone hose.
Other than that I really want to finish off the suspension so I can start looking at the bodywork which is a mess!
sidenote: supercharger has been postponed because £2000 is a lot to spend on a car that's over 100k now and I don't wanna keep it forever...
Nice update mate, I do like that blue!
