Not planning on any shows tbh, never have been one for bothering.
Might make an effort this year though.

Wayne, estimated build cost initially was 1100, rounded up to more like 1300 to be safe.
Ultimately it's come to more like...1650.
I changed my mind on a few things and hurried a little to get it all wrapped up so didnt always pick the most "practical" option, it was the piping & manifolds that added the largest lump ultimately.

I do have a couple/few full sets of the manifold flanges (bypass flange, s/c inlet & outlets) left, which i will likely be listing on ebay in the near future.
I'm not 100% on the selling rules on here, but I think i'm still too much of a noob to post in the for sale section. lol

Everything running well then?

Need to be a paid up member to sell stuff. Membership pretty much paid for itself for me cuz I bought all my hoses from ASH and we get a 15% discount.

So far so good, it just wafts along with the soundtrack of air raid siren haha

I do seem to be getting some interesting noises from the charger though.
I think it's possibly overboosting/getting compressor surge at medium throttle under mild load for any sustained period.
Get a chattering from the blower then the boost drops off...
I'm not a 100% how to go about eliminating this on a supercharger set up though.

Not seen or heard of anyone else having similar issues with their set ups.

You running a Mini bypass? I've heard from a few people they can cause issues. I'm gonna run mine with one for a bit then swap over to a BOV.

Yeah it's the mini bypass valve.
Glad i'm not only one then.

I'm either going to replicate the TTE kit's bypass routing (from inlet to outlet at the supercharger) OR i've got a aftermarket VW/Audi 1.8T engine recirc valve that i'm going to plumb in to atmosphere at the TB just to test the theory. Before spending X amount on a NICE BOV

I can only think either the spring rate in the mini valve is not quite right (but no way to adjust), I have the "uprated bypass valve" in atm.
Or my piping to the valve is a little restrictive, it's only 30mm off a T-piece to reduction elbow which opens to 38mm pushed over the valves inlet.
Or it's just not happy with the bypass being so far away, a shorter tract would probably increase the throttle response a little aswell.

Anywho, we all love pics.
I'll sdmit I didn't take many during the build, it was cold & miserable out.
But here's the handful I did take.

This was a laugh. Decided it was probably easier just to extend the loom for the air temp sensor to reach the inlet elbow. However with no stanley knife to hand i snipped through the insulation & sender wire. Peeling back 16 year old loom wrap & insulation tape is not a laugh.

Looks good mate,

I've ran a mini bypass on mine since I created it 4 years ago and never had a single issue with it.

I hear on fb people say they have issue but I've never seen them

Likewise on the VVTi cover, mines pretty much disentegrated.

Might try a different idea on bypass/BOV theory. Scrap the both and run a 2nd throttle on the supercharger inlet. Alot of the MX5 guys do this, it would eliminate the need for either a bypass or BOV (stealth).
I'm thinking that a diesel throttle body, vacuum operated (non-electric, unless you want to get fancy and rig a vacuum soelnoid off the manifold vac feed and wire it in to the motor on the TB) as they are open under ambient/+ pressure and closed during vacuum. In my head thinking that it should mimmick the action of the actual car throttle butterfly...
Something like this could work;

For 20 quid ebay i may just order one (this one being from a volvo/ford 2.0 diesel). I can test the action just off the vac pipe to satisfy my curiosity.

Thoughts?
