new phone.
new phone.
hmm see your point, i guess the ergonomics are moving in the direction of full touchscreen though as screen sizes get bigger and demand more of the room within the chassis?
I know the N97 had the red/green button but that phone was an epic fail from what ive read and friends have experienced

oh i agree, aesthitically (sp) the iphone is hard to beat,
but i understand the functionality side of it also playing a factor
parthiban Lol, my problem with the iPhone is how restrictive it is -
parthiban Have you got both OSs dual booting on the one device? That's pretty cool, you're clearly into your smartphones!

todd Jailbreak it, can do anything you like with it then :thumbup1:
Other thing to note about the Galaxy S, it really is light, has no substance to it at all which put me off.

Yes mate.
Last night I did to my iPhone:
Chnaged the SMS tone by SSH'ing into the system, I changed it so a sheep so now when I get a text it goes baaa. I can also change all the shutter sounds and lock/unlock sounds etc.
I changed the battery colour on the top bar to blue.
I can basically switch over parts of the OS by hitting 3 buttons from the homescreen. Settings>Winterboard> Multitasking, Wallpaper, Battery, All 3 etc..
And when I click and hold, swipe left, swipe right on the status bar, tap and hold the home button, double click the home button, or press down then up on the volume keys on the side, a little thing called bossprefs/sbsettings comes up. This allows you to quick switch things, like by doing this I can turn off, 3G, Edge, find our everything I am doing, Turn off location services, change brightness, Put airplane mode on, Turn off wi-fi, Then I can kill everything I am doing by clicking the x next to the app on the processes list. I can turn off the phone from there, respring it, or I can select apps I want in their own dock, for quick switching.
May sound complicated, but very cool.
Lol, yeah simplicity is what a lot of iPhone users are after, but stuff like what Oli just described is what I like about Android as it's all available straight out of the box.
Is interesting though that it does appear the control is there if you want it.....
That's the thing, the iphones have been able to do what DS described in his post since they came out.
At the end of the day the only reason I switched again was the lack of quality camera, I know the new one has a good camera but even then, they are waaaay overpriced compared to other phones.

11 days and counting till I can get my Galaxy S although I'm going to have a interesting talk with Orange as to why my upgrade costs £150 when they are selling the phone for £50 on the tariff that I want, ****** cheek of it
