Had (not) a lot of fun today.

Running the Audi style recirc valve did nothing but make it sound like nothing other a hoover with a leak (reading up now, ofcourse it woudn't have worked).

Just the diesel valve saw massive compressor surge - Nope.

However, the diesel valve along with the bypass valve saw better braking feel and mildly improved response with better engine braking due to less air flowing in while closing/part throttle cruising.
So this set up is how i've left it for now.

After realising I couldn't re-root the bypass to mimick the TTE set-up (silicone hose doesn't bend w/o kinking easily). I put it all back together and sodded off to cook dinner in a huff.

The next step is going to be sorting out the above, mocking up the TTE bypass path.
But I have new wheels in the post (Y) so my payday treat has cleared me up a little bit while still recovering from the intial supercharging outlay.

LSD = Skids

Really good for shaking up the in-laws (to be) (Y)

So this is the diesel TB

[Image: IMAG0878.jpg]

[Image: IMAG0880.jpg]

It mimics the car's TB very nicely... But.
Under certain conditions it seems the diesel valve sees too much vacuum between gear changes and be locked in closed position, with no air going in no boost can be made so the inlet is completely restricted - Foot to the floor at 5k rpm and nothing, no repsonse.

This requires more pondering

I don't get it, from the picture the new valve completely cuts off the inlet

To stop over-boosting, if it cant drag extra air in when off throttle. It can't overboost.
Car's TB open, diesel valve sees + pressure and opens to mimic it.

Short of relocating the IS's TB, this is my next best theory. Only immediate improvement would be to cable operate the diesel valve off the throttle cable...

Interesting finding on the diesel valve theory though.
I'm using a 180 degree silicone bend between the valve and the s/c inlet, this was being sucked flat & collapsing.
So i'm going to the test the diesel valve again but w/hard pipes between it & inlet.

I had a day off to myself - I'm lazy, it's too cold, it's still trying to snow.

But new wheels;
[Image: IMAG0919.jpg]
[Image: IMAG0920.jpg]
[Image: IMAG0921.jpg]
poke
[Image: IMAG0924.jpg]
[Image: IMAG0927.jpg]
Excuse the rear arch gap - only just off the jack.

And despite the moods induced by weather
I may have perfected the diesel valve set up...
What picture doesn't show is the 3 elastic bands wrapped around the actuating arm
[Image: IMAG0918.jpg]

In regard to the wheels/tyres
Yes they're only a 40 profile on a 17" wheel
and no, 235 doesn't really seem to fit on the front.

Specs;
Rota boost 17x8 ET35
Nankang NS2-R 235/40/17 (120 compound) (all round)
Didn't have a lot of confidence at first (they were cold), but after a drive they stick like the proverbial to a blanket, with nice controlled slides from the back end when pushed.
Try as I might I couldn't get the inlet/diesel valve to lock up under throttle either - **** Good Drive!

The plan is;
-Rear tyres in correct profile
-Get it through an MOT (welding needed)
-Full geometry set up
-DYNO power run (before the clutch, or CATs die)

Like I said- You can pick up an IS200 Sport for 650 quid. But don't. (Y)

Axel tramp has appeared, and is bouncng its ugly head up & down off the tarmac...
Two theories;
- Knackered bushes somewhere
- Knackered shock/springs

With the diff mounts now changed to some super stiff poly items, gear changes & response from the drivetrain are crisp as. Has taken miles off the car.
So with a spirited drive, i notice how the back end bottomed out twice. Only when really pushing on certain cambers in the road has this ever happened.
Taking a look at the car and it appears to be listing slightly to the passenger side rear.
New suspension has been pushed higher up the list (Y)

MOT to get through this month

& Power run booked (Y)
Will post dyno results when i have them

It gets better now too

While giving a it a good thrashing it's been cutting out. starts with a hint of misfire, then eventually cuts out, will give just a tiny amount of throttle to roll along. after a few moments limping along its fine again.

Is it possible that im hitting fuel cut? Wouldnt think so with the patriks black box fitted.
Or ami cooking the pre-cats?

Or do i just need beefier injectors?

I'm stumped.
