Benchmark against what though? processor speed?, wifi speed?

as a general rule of thumb what can a 1500 scoring phone do better than a 800 scoring phone?

parthiban So I'm winning then :Bazza: :tongue_smilie:.

Boooo

Mind you, I'm getting that score running android from the SD card, can't wait till the devs figure out how to get it running from the actual phone itself :thumbup1:

2tongues Quite sad really.
Lol, thanks Blush

Seriously though it's not about comparing with other phones, I first used it to see what the improvement was after applying the lag fix, I could feel the increased smoothness but using a standardised test allowed a way to quantify the result.

It basically runs a number of tests like data i/o speeds and graphics processing and the score summarises how well and quickly it got through them.

Lol, I'm sure it will be, I'm still well impressed with the dual boot arrangement you have! What are the raw specs of the HD2 as it's quite a bit older than the SGS? As in it must be lacking quite a bit of power off the hummingbird yet it's still running pretty quick!

parthiban You've got Froyo now haven't you? That should be the reason Smile

Benchmarking scores

Apparently I have 2.1 not 2.2!! 2.2 (Froyo). is not available on network locked handsets yet.

So it should be a bit better when 2.2 is available.

Ahh I thought it was released to all Desires, which network is that btw? So some still lock the handsets?

The only network that has coverage both at home and work - unfortunately its 3, but never had an issue yet with the network after 6 years only the handsets.

Yeah I think 3 probably get a bit more stick than they deserve, my sis has had a 3 phone for years and most of the time it's fine, there are odd occasions it doesn't work but they make up for it by being ridiculously cheap!

you do get what you pay for generally.

Dark Samurai iphone 4 is the best!

says someone who doesn't even have one?

I'm not due an upgrade for a few months yet, but am following the discussion here with a fair bit of interest! I'll be interested to see what's available come upgrade time for me (End of the year or thereabouts)
