Confusedhock: Partiban considering a Mac  They are a good piece of kit mate and as Gord says they wont give you problems like pc's do, but then your only buying something to carry around and surf on so a netbook should do the job.....dont forget the argos outlet on ebay that i picked my little netbook from, was a great price Smile

For me, Macs are overpriced for what they are, you can get way better specced PCs for less money...

I'd stick with a netbook running Android (cos you know how that all works) or Ubuntu Netbook.

Just to chuck another spanner in - have you considered a tablet?

Gord O dear me, after a few years of use ............ the Apple Mac will still work  as it did the day you 1st bought it

lol, really?! We've got a room of 10 of them here and the hard drives in 3 of them died within 18 months (and 4 more of them within 3 years), they go through keyboards like nobody's business and they are forever developing little niggling problems. The latest was 3 of them deciding one day they didn't want to run Firefox anymore. And Apple's solution is *always* "back up any important data, format the drive and reinstall the OS". WTF!! How about actually trying to fix the problem?

Gord If i was to sell my IMac now after owning it a few years, i would still get a very very good price for it, unlike you normal pc's of the same spec Big Grin:p

Because you would be selling to a market where people are conditioned into buying expensive parts!! £40 for a keyboard?! £40 for a *wired* mouse!!!

Dave makes a valid point, if I wanted a macbook pro I could get a PC equivalent a lot cheaper, the air is the one you can't really get from anyone else, so perhaps I should go for that.

I have considered tablets, but then it might be easier to have a physical keyboard - did think about waiting for the xoom though. I don't want an iPad, and iPad 1 makes more sense than the 2 because of the price reduction anyway.

Thanks that's definitely helped, I think I now need to decide whether to get an air or a netbook........... Smile
