ive been thinking, as you've just brought it, does anyone think there could be any reason for the original owner/garage to take the dash apart and take any warning lights out to cover any hidden faults, like 02 sensors if its been sitting around for a while and they've not reconneted the plug back in properly to the cluster, so occasionally the power for that block dips out as its not plugged in fully? id start by taking the clocks apart look at the bulbs see if they are all still in, reconenect all the plugs so they sit in properly and hope that fixes it, if you do find any bulbs missing obd it and get back to the person you brought it from, good luck hope you get it sorted soon and welcome to the 300 club

Good idea, and yes if there's a bit of a wiring mess definitely a possibility. Is it a regular flash or an intermittent one like a loose connection?

More reason to think it's a wiring problem although if it's a regular flash I'm not really sure.

Best to ring your dealer and see if there is any situation in which those lights will flash - if there isn't then it's most likely a wiring problem.

Marsdendean Did the garage / person not give you your money back? Shame to hear went pop, never heard it before . . . .

deal done through the dreaded swaps site, it was faultless on drive back (140 miles). then gearbox indicator prnd ect started flashing mpg guage stuck on 40mpg.. checked oil and topped it up as nearly empty, didnt overfill, took it for a drive and a pipe blew on gearbox covered all under car in oil,now jumps when all gears selected and engine light on.
