el_bandido I still don't understand how adding bigger disks on to the same sized callipers will make even an ounce of difference. The contact patch would be identical wouldn't it?

The further the contact point is from the axis of rotation, the stronger the braking force will be, regardless of contact area.

Think about trying to undo a really stubborn bolt, if you use a longer breaker bar, you can undo it with the same force by just moving the application of the force further away.

The force (torque) is directly proportional to the increase in size (radius.) t = F x R

FirebirdPhil Heat will be lost from the disk quicker and it is heat that causes poor breaking.

And this^^^

That's exactly what I was going to do with my setup to keep it all hidden and stealthy, good work!

I did it for a couple of reasons,

the first is how trick/swish it is

The second is I'm not particularly keen on pillar mounts and I couldn't think of anywhere else that didn't look bodged/"forced" if you know what I mean?

Car is broke!

wont run! it starts, runs for 1 second and then dies.

Ive checked everything, ive even put a new fuel pump in for good measure!

had the AA bloke out, he couldnt work out what was wrong and he said i had checked most of the things he would check!

so ive had it dragged to a local auto electrician:

id suggest removing the emanage, bit by bit.

take off the fuel connections, try it, then ignition, try it, etc till its all off

that was the plan Stav but the situation is a little complicated so i just did as my parents suggested to prevent them asking too many questions!

The electrician has until wednesday and if it isnt running then im having it dragged home and ill do the fault finding myself.

I did just win this on ebay though:
