Can anyone tell me why the is300 weighs 170kg more than the 200? Is it just the engine or something else?

engine and the auto gearbox and possibly the electric seats, but dont let it put you off as you can fill the boot with amps and subs to get a better weight distribution:lol:

well nur-motorsport wants to get their hands on my car to carbon fibre skin pretty much every panel so that would save lots of weight not chaep though, easiest way to kill some weight are the electric seats and get rid of the spare wheel, it all depends how much you want to change or remove

If you ditch the spare wheel, relocate the battery to the boot.

Seats will be going in favour of recaros apart from that i dont wanna go too exteme im guessing electrics will take up a lot of the weight but adding power is preferable to loosing weight lol seen that the bottom ends can take around 600hp so think a turbo conversion needs to be done asap

Ross - the IS300 is definitely the way to go. I wouldn't bother with that charged IS200, as once you've made your money back selling the SC you might struggle to get a grand for a kitted IS.

Also, give me a shout if you find some bolt on rails for the IS200. I had a couple of bride superlows but they would not fit recaro SR3 seats (even though internet wisdom said they would) so be careful.

I tried a bride seat on my old bride rails, but it was extremely uncomfortable.

Yeah im thinking the 300 is the way to go even with the extra weight it has a lot more scope for easy power with a lot of parts available from the supras. will probably go for recaros from the accord type r or integra as i have seen them in one before worst case i will just weld them to the oem rails

Integra seats are extremely expensive, but the same model can be found for ~150-300 for a pair. This is what I had and I picked the two mint condition up for £250:
