My IS200 Sport
My IS200 Sport
Here we go...after months of inactivity and yet more complaining from Lexuspat (out of character I know haha) here is my build thread...
...it may turn out to be more of a random picture thread as I haven't done much of the 'building' myself, but I'll try to keep it as interesting as possible.
We'll kick off with some pictures of the car the day after I got her...
She was standard apart from some terrible Kato Racing wheels and a double din head unit. A nice motor overall but she needed a little tidy up
Whilst the previous owner was installing the new head unit he'd managed to break the aerial...luckily a mate of mine is good with that kind of thing and fitted a digital aerial for me...looked like a b*tch of a job.
Next came the roof...I wasn't keen on the colour of the car when I bought it (missing my old black IS and this was the only affordable IS I could find at the time) so I decided to break up the colour with some carbon wrap.
The rising sun sticker on the back window is the remains of the JapLegendsUK stickers that were on the car. There are some OJC stickers on there now but not visible in this picture.
A good start mate! Keep it going
Tein SuperStreet Coilovers were next on the agenda...having secured some at an awesomely cheap price from a member in Scotland! I don't have any pictures of the fitting 'cause my phone was dead at the time but the guy that fitted them for me took this picture afterwards.
I gave it a few days to let them settle in properly and then took this picture. I don't think it's any lower but I like the picture so here it is.
As you've probably noticed from the pictures the exhaust has been changed as well... it's a 2.5" Japspeed Catback that Japspeed sent me by mistake when I ordered a de-cat manifold.
I don't pictures of this being fitted either 'cause I wasn't there to see it fitted.
speaking of the exhaust and the Coilovers...the two together don't agree with speedbumps it seems and would scrape now and again, however one morning the scrape was followed by a clunk...this was the result...
So I bought a new sensor off eBay (awesome place for cheap bits)...
...and fitted it with an angled adaptor to point it away from the floor...
...Problem solved!
I forgot to mention the HID's...which were one of the first mods I did.
Then the de-badging began...
...then to make the front end slightly more aggressive I got rid of the standard grill for this one...
...Much better I think
I decided I needed some induction noise to go with the exhaust noise so I went in search of an induction kit...I found this custom made kit on eBay...
Luckily the strut brace went back on with slight persuasion
...and the OJC sticker was added for the final touch!
Progress has been slow recently but there are a few new bits to tell you all about so... Here they are!
I've needed new brakes for a while and I finally got round to sorting them out! and not a moment too soon as you'll see...
These were the worst ones...I didn't have time to take pictures of all four corners but I'm sure you'll agree that they were desperate!!
Here are the new ones...
...and now I can stop safely again! Happy times!
