Hi guys, been on here a while now looking and reading what you'll have been doing to most fave Lexus in the country.
I too want to go down the turbo route, but need help and advice as I go along.

From what I have read, 4-6psi boost is the max the stock engine can take - given the toothpick conrods.
Also no ECU needed upto for this level of boost, just a map sensor voltage clamp - the black box as sold on here by P.Lindblom.
Just need to construct a manifold - probably log type.
Get a turbo - T28 with adjustable actuator set to 5PSI
Construct turbo out pipe to mate to catback exhaust as sold by 2fast2cool2 on ebay. Exhaust already on car and sounds great.

Engine is still healthy at 95K and just had a full service. I'll do a belt change in the summer. Doesn't use any oil and still pulls well. Just had MOT so all in all - good nick.
May need a clutch, so what uprated clutch assembly do you'll use? I had read/heard that std Celica GT4/MR2 Turbo pressure plate and drive plate is a bolt on! Can anybody confirm?
Also read that Celica 1ZZFE green injectors are a direct bolt on with a very slight increase in cc? Do they help and not over fuel with just the blackbox?
Probably more questions to come Smile
Cheers Guys

Hi mate. Some good starting points there.

You'll prob have to make a tubular manifold. A log is generally cast so mass produced.

Injectors do for your right. And your best going for something like the emanage ultimate to be honest.

few people on here running up to 9psi on stock internals, so i would say 4-6psi is safe

Unrelated to your car specifically, but how far would 15psi get you in terms of horse power on a 1g-fe?

A big issue of "safe" is map and heat, so if you sort cooling out, you might be able to push a bit more boost and remain in safe territory.

Cheers guys for the info.
Haven't bought anything as yet, just making lists and doing research as don't want anything to go horribly wrong.
So 0.5bar/7psi should be safe.
Still need to know about clutch as I'm pretty sure my current one won't hold up.
What clutch you using John?

Ok Thanks John
Its probably the same as used as the Altezza.

The 1ZZFE Green injectors. Are they needed? or is it only when going Emanage Ultimate?
