In that case if they record all calls they will need to have copys of the calls in question if they are refusing insurance.

So either you have to ask for copys or a solicitor.

Because of the potentially very big impact that their refusal to insure you will have in the future, they really *must* be able to prove this thing about you being abusive. Otherwise any call centre operator just having a bad day could put someone down as "abusive", with no proof, and really mess up their future insurance prospects.

I think them telling you that you don't have to tell other insurers (which is wrong IMHO) is just them trying to get out of giving you any proof.

Right been in touch with Alan at Financial Ombudsman, he is due to reply to me next coming days for my initial cocnerns.

I have told him about this, and he states he cant investigate and i got to first complain to Directline give them a chance to resolve if they dont then i can highlight it as a new case to FOS. my current complaint has been going on since Jan 09, so would take another year.

To be honest nothing to loose apart from time and stamps for the letters, so im going to write a letter and send it it as a complaint reuqesting evidence and explanation, another long process in the pipeline.
