Hi all, 2 questions for your... 2001 s top load cd radio.
1, radio will not load or eject cd's NO error codes, when you press cd button on front nothing happens no noise, no message on screen it just stays blank, if I switch to tape, tape displays on panel, fm etc but no function at all on cd,
2, does anyone have a old oem headunit with the dreaded err3 code that they want to sell, (must be mega cheap haha) reason being I wish to buy the GROM adaptor to play my ipod through it, reason I ask these two questions is because the GROM adaptor must be in the cd mode for it to detect it and play back. My unit does not detect/switch to cd mode so it will never detect external source.
please help because i need to play digital music and my fm transmitter sounds c**p. Merry christmas to you all,
Phil

Worth a try but have you tried pulling the radio fuse mate? it might reset the unit? if you have cd's in the unit it will usually eject them when you put the fuse back in?

Bandit, have removed fuse, removed radio and no cd's in slot, carried out reboot but still no function when you press cd button,

Gord you are correct, the bottom load(early) sets have a different multiplug.

I was wondering if anyone had this same fault, as I need the cd function to detect GROM adaptor, SO anyone got a late top loading unit surplus to their requirements
thanks guys.

I do have a fully working top loader for sale, was up for £150 but will take £100 + post. It is the very late all black version (very nice looking unit in the IS200).

This is the last day I have internet (apart from mobile that is) till the 2nd so if you want it posted quickly let me know by 6PM today. I think £15 will cover the shipping - insured next day sort of thing.

Make sure the replacement unit is the same as your faulty unit, as someone has already said, the connections are different.

If your faulty unit is a 13903 unit then the replacement must be a 13903 unit, if not, then the replacement unit may not work in your car.

Marsdendean The later radios are very nice hence why i don't want an aftermarket one!

You don't want Bluetooth support, the ability to play MP3 CDs and other formats, iPod integration, DVD playing, etc, etc ?

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
