Wow 1/4 mile difference is only 100th of a second difference.
I would have the gtr and pocket $340,000

I'm with Ian, the difference is minimal and in reality people prefer the 0-60 which is usually more useful than top end speed anyhow!!

Of course with the money of the lexus you build a gtr much more powerful but I don't think that its buyers thinks that way. They have the money and just buy it...

Some more bo**ocks propaganda if you ask me - firstly the GT-R starts before the LFA and secondly they deliberately just give the LFA tons of wheelspin so it can't get off the line. I'm sure if that test was done fairly the LFA would be further ahead than the GT-R.

Having said that I'm not going to take anything away from the GT-R, it's an amazing piece of kit but I'm getting really tired of this GT-R vs. LFA discussion. Using that logic, there isn't a single exotic supercar you can buy compared to the GT-R because it gets close to all of them for no money.

It's not always about pure performance, the LFA's engine sound alone would make me buy one if I had the cash, and most reviews are starting to agree that the LFA is quite a special machine.

I agree the LF-A is a amazing car but for the money I wouldn't buy one, not because I could get a GT-R and tune it but for the same money I would want something a little more say for instance a Lambo Murcielago LP670sv-4.

But then I suppose it's each to their own, maybe if I had infinite money I would buy one, who knows Big Grin luckily I doubt i'll ever be in that position.

Yep have to agree with you there, the SV, zonda, ccx, 599 GTO and several others would probably have my attention before the LFA.........

I wish Lexus hadn't been so silly with the pricing - they're making a loss anyway so it would have made more sense (to me) to sell the car for around £100k as it would have dramatically lifted the brand image and brought people in to buy the other models.......

The LF-A has more power than the GT-R and is lighter too. So do I believe the GT-R is really faster in a proper comparison ? No. Is it better value for money ? IMHO yes, of course.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

I like the comments below the video, quote -

People who say "i can buy this or 3 of that" with the LFA price are penny pitchers who will never afford one....LFA target customers are big spenders...who buy 100k rolex watches....a timex watch does the same thing as a rolex, but is it worth the extra 99k?
