garyskisplym Does anyone know how the htc compares to the i4.

I like the look of the htc but reallywant a iphoine

Then get the iPhone, one thing I have learnt is that people who want an iPhone will not be happy with anything else.

For me I prefer android as an operating system, so it all works out Smile

That is 100% the opposite opinion of every iPhone user I know.

2tongues That is 100% the opposite opinion of every iPhone user I know.

Really? Anyone I know who wanted an iPhone but bought something else for whatever reason was never happy and ended up buying an iPhone

Although perhaps it's because it's up on this pedestal and once they've had one they realise it isn't all it's cracked up to be?

I've got a smartphone problem, can't stop buying them LOL

Iphone really is all it's cracked up to be, mainly because of the market and the simple UI, had a few of them now and rate them very highly.

Unfourtunatly they have been miles behind all the other user interfaces for years, 5MP cameras, copy and paste and wi-fi tethering are not "new" no matter what apple would have you believe LOL

I've got a HD2 with android and and WM on it just now, great for a geek like me Smile

Lol, my problem with the iPhone is how restrictive it is - that's also my only problem with the galaxy s, in trying to emulate the iPhone they've taken away some android functionality which bugs me every now and then.........I'd be much happier if I could just have stock android.

And what's with the stupid trend of copying the iPhone's swipe to unlock, and swipe to answer calls? I find that so bl00dy irritating! I don't want to swipe, I just want to press a button! :Shooting:

Have you got both OSs dual booting on the one device? That's pretty cool, you're clearly into your smartphones!

if it was the case of pressing a virtual button chacnes are you would be unlocking/anserwing calls when you dont want to, unless you always handle the phone by the sides of it and not front to back as i usually do,

like taking it out your pocket i would be forever answering calls before i even looked at the screen.

failing that if it was a manual button it would defeat the object of a touch screen phone surely?

i'm going to be getting the Samsung Galaxy S in a few weeks when my upgrade is due, from what i've read the earlier freezing/lagging issue has been resolved and all the new Galaxy S are coming with the up to date firmware, failing that you can just download the updated firmware to resolve this.

Not really, my last android phone was stock android and had a few buttons, to unlock the screen all I had to do was press menu twice, and to make and end calls I'd just hit the tactile green and red buttons.

Don't get me wrong my new phone is better in so many ways, but I much prefer that simplicity - the only reason to not have buttons is to make the front of the phone look better, it doesn't supercede the use of the touch screen which is still used for everything else.

It's so annoying to have to swipe the screen if I just quickly want to look at a widget on my home screen, or that I can't just pull the phone out of my pocket and answer a call with one quick press........
