Home built charged is200!!
So the build is nearly complete and hopefully will get some pics uploaded soon, thanks to many members putting up info on their build threads its you guys that made this possible,
Build spec
Slk charger m62 with clutch
Custom stainless steel cradle
Custom inlet and outlet
Nissan navara d40 2.5 water pump pulley (standard tte diameter)
Hks fcd
Hks ssqv
Mishimoto intercooler, hoses,
Toyo sports pipework universal kit
5pk790 belt
Toyota Camry belt tensioner, bit heavy duty but seems to work well,
Greedy mechanical boost guage
So now doing the final parts of the build but am not sure on a couple of things hopefully you guys have the answers,
1) how do you remove the security screws on ecu guard for easier access to wire in black box/fcd?
2) when fitting a mechanical boost guage where do you run the small diameter pipe which connects to the back of guage?
3) on the hks ssqv what is the function of the small tube on the back, ie what does it connect to?
Any help would be much appreciated as not too sure bout these bits as never had any of them on a car before, future plans as soon as funds are available will be to fit bypass valve same as lexuspat ( great idea) and probably Patrick's black box but fcd will have to do for now!!
Firstly the fcd is awful as a system to run with the charger and u will bog down under 3k best bet getbrid and use the blackbox.
The ecu is just security screws so u need the right tyoe of bits to undo it or better still u can see all the cables anyway just wire next to it.
And thirdly running just a bov is a bad setup and most if not all use a bypass system similar to the standard kit

Add to that if u go online ebay best u can buy brand new toyota tensioner pulleybwhich is the one u want for about £30 works perfectly

Add to thatvthe boost guage needs to be plumbed into the vacuum line below the throttle body, its the bottom of the 2 lines ur see it.
Best bet go onto my build and have a look at my setup its all there the parts u need

So did mine mate, u have to remember ive spent 2 years researching and then 6 months building my kit.
Ive looled at and explored every option there is and built it from scratch.
Not to blow my own horn but theres not much I dont know about these systems and I know what works and what dont.
If u want to run with wjat u have thats fine but im saying it wont work right so expect that.
