1JZ Powered IS200!!
1JZ Powered IS200!!
yeah been busy on it recently!
Fitted a shorter drive belt to suit not having aircon and New thermostat earlier in the week, After that i set about plumbing in the heating. the return hose fits easily but the inlet hose was a nightmare! a bit of bending, cutting and clamps and i finally got something that would work. Happy with that i moved on to test fitting the radiator as ive been told these do not fit due to the JZ sitting to far forward. with nothing to lose i gave it ago and to my supprise it fits perfectly with the standard bottom rad hose from the IS fitting the to JZ spot on! Happy days!
Then took a trip to earls performance in silverstone and had a braided oil feed made for my turbo, didnt bother with the return as the machine shop next to me has that covered. gone for a -8 feed with no restrictors as its not a ball bearing turbo and a very wide return. the standard jz return is about 19-22mm and ive got a 25mm return so lots of flow which holset recommends to avoid blowing the seals out!
Next up i went about sorting the downpipe. i brought a 3" downpipe kit which i can use to cut to fit, the turbo outlet is a weird size about 2.75" i brought a vband set i thought i would need but turned out to be wrong so ordered another which works a treat! the downpipe clears the steering by miles but touches the heater pipes! so a bit of cutting and welding is needed to avoid this. everything will be heat wrapped to avoid any nastys!
all going well so far! just got to finish these little bits then its EMS and start up!!
