Hi People

The other week i took my car to get a 4 wheels alignment carried out as my tires had started to wear after less then 5k as garage got it done on a 2 wheel system not 4.

All checked for free then i got the phone call and it was all out suprise surprise.

I told them to just do the adjustments, so stood out of the work stop next thing my mate comes out and ask me to come in the mechanic wants to show mw something.

The fronts where all sorted ruffly but that rears where a problem happened.

Cant remember which way it is but one side on the rear they could not adjust the camber and other side could not do the toe.

The mechanic said it was a common fualt on the is200s.

Im just woundering if anyone else has had this problem and if so how do you sort it or what needs replacing??

Gary

DJ Wozza Gary there is only one person to talk to, Tony @ WIM. He will know what you need etc, but the trip will pay for itself as you have already wasted money getting the "tracking" done...

Got it free luckly as no the garage foreman.

Would go to wim but its neally 8hour round trip.

garyskisplym Is everything not already adjustable on is200??

only to a limit, which isnt quite enough after lowering a certain amount then you need the extra from the aftermarket arms

So does anyone know what needed replacing to sort this as you cant even adjust them at the min as the bolts will not move.

IMO... The phrase, I think you are looking for Gary is "all the gear and no idea" WIM are the place for sure. But soooooooooooooooooo many people have "lazer 4 wheel alignment" and the car ends up worse than when you started as the operators have no concept of how to use the equipment. Old skool still rules in most instances. Tracking gauge along with a good camber castor gauge. String and bubbles are as good as any high tec machine if the guy (or girl) steering it knows his stuff. There are plenty of cars driving around which are set up correct but, are in reality crabbing down the road. If they cannot even undo the nuts and bolts you have no chance! Move on.
