Since getting back from hols, my RH headlamp has been working on and off. When I start the car it doesn't work, but then after 15-20 mins of driving it comes on and then stays on.

Is this likely to be a problem with the headlamp or elsewhere? I was just wondering whether a weak battery could cause this? All was fine before I went on holiday, but then the car was sitting around doing nothing for 3 weeks covered in snow.

More likely the ballast. I would try swapping the ballast to the other side and seeing if the problem moves.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

I just had the same issue on my GF Golf. The HID eventually stopped working.

The cause of my issue was a failing ballast. I replaced the ballast and all working now.

is your HID relay driven or direct to the ballast?

If it's a failing ballast that was pretty quick! Although that is a better problem than an electrical fault somewhere..............yep good tip will try swapping them over.

@Stav: I'm not sure, how would I tell the difference? It's the new kit I bought from HIDs4U a few months ago....

Did you have to wire to the battery or just plug it straight into the normal headlight plug?

No worries, I'll try swapping them over and then get in touch with HIDs4u to sort a replacement or something if the problem persists.

The ballast shouldn't be failing, as you say, so if it is then it must be a fault right from the start (i.e. manufacturing fault/component problem). I'm guessing a bad solder joint or marginal component that has been killed by the extended cold weather.
