Noticed on quite a few IS200's in the past, where the ballasts have been fitted with the cables pointing upwards, always a good practice to have the cables facing downwards so the water/condensation runs away from the plugs and not into the unit! Smile

Good idea, never thought of that but it does make sense. However the failing one is pointing downwards Confusedad:

Parthiban your just being awkward now :laugh:

Surprised that the HIDS4U ones are still using the large ballasts with the inbuilt starter system, and not gone for the slim line ballasts with the external starter system, i've had 2 sets with the big ballasts in the past and both packed up, but the set i still have now with the small ballast and external starter still work fine and never had any problems with them? Smile

parthiban It's floating behind the fusebox too, probably how yours is Smile

Yep I thought that was the cause too, I was away for 3 weeks and the car was covered in snow the whole time - it's possible there is moisture inside it.

Yeah same place, driver side ive fixed it to the power steering fluid reservoir bracket

Sorry matey! But I think the normal ones are the slim ones, it's only the 50W kit that's got the large ballasts.

Yeah people say that but I'm lazy and leave my lights on auto all the time - my last HIDs lasted like 5 years though so it can't be a big problem.

Just to follow up on this, HIDs4U were pretty good about it. Put the faulty ballast in the post thursday afternoon, replacement arrived saturday morning!

New one's in now and all seems fine, hopefully I'll have no more problems Smile
