07-09-2016, 10:19 PM #13You could do with getting the codes read with an OBDII reader to see why the engine check light is on. Could be the speed sensors, especially since you've had a front-end collision (i.e. the front sensors).

Edit - ok, I guess it's at the bottom of the cooling system really, since it's taking the coolant outlet from the radiator into the water pump.

I actually started my car and drove it down after the collison happened!
I didnt see any lights then

Yep, Thats what I meant, at the bottom and side of the water pump :blushing:
I havent tried the heater trick!

Yes, the speed sensors are used both by the ABS and TRC systems. They have quite fine cabling though, which is easily damaged. If they were ok after the collision, could they have been perhaps damaged if you've had to mess around with the front wheels/suspension ? Or maybe you haven't touched that.
Would be good to get the codes checked though, so we can tell for sure.

Ibby at this stage of your rebuild i think a obd code reader some thing like this would be a worth while investement.
