Intermittent HID problem
Intermittent HID problem
Haven't had a chance to swap them over yet - it now works right from startup but while the engine's turning over the headlamp flickers so it is definitely pointing to a ballast problem.
I'm going to get in touch with them for a replacement before it dies completely too.
Didn't you buy a new hid system recently? Are these new ones that are failing? Not good.

had exact same prob on the golf...but thats cause i mounted the ballast under the front bumper...after carwashes and rain it would work intermittently (the bulb that was connected to the ballast which was under the bumper)...i removed the bumper and dis-assembled the ballast...and saw moisture on the electronics board....got a hair dryer and being very careful (not to melt it) i dried the water out, and it was working fine...after i reassembled it i sealed the edges of the ballast with clear silicone....never had problems since... (hope this helps)
I actually thought moisture might have been the cause of my last kit failing, which is why with this kit I've mounted both ballasts in the air, so they'll never sit in or near any standing water.........
But I think Steve might be right with this one, seeing as it's failing so quickly there must have been a problem with this right from the start. The silicone thing is a good idea though if these things are not fully waterproof.

also remember, if the car has been left not touched for long in the snow it is likely that the ballast would have got cold and seein as its made from smooth shiny metal (think bathroom mirror) the heat from the engine could have caused condensation on the inside when the temp moved from low to high...jus a suggestion lol
SHAHZ Where have you mouted the passenger side , ive got the driverside one floating and passenger side tucked behind the fuse box? It's floating behind the fusebox too, probably how yours is
